Greening MUSIC
The music industry is uniquely placed to help build the climate movement, bringing about the cultural shifts needed to deal with multiple systemic crises.
It’s important that we recognise and reduce the heavy environmental impact of the sector. EarthPercent funds organizations helping those within the industry to decarbonize and make music more sustainable for generations to come.
To fast-track and maximize the impact in our greening music action area we have created partner relationships with LIVE and the Music Climate Pact. Together these bodies represent the sector across Live and Recorded music and help us to identify and fund some of the most needed and collective projects across the industry by world leading organizations such as Julie’s Bicycle, A Greener Future, Vision 2025 and Music Declares Emergency, to decarbonise and unite as quickly as possible.
In doing so we want to make best practice guidance, case studies and reporting tools standardized across the industry, and made freely available for all in one place.

MUSIC FANS ARE DEMANDING BOLDER ACTION...
WE NEED TO LISTEN
While tackling the climate crisis is increasingly seen as a priority across society, music fans are significantly more likely to view it as a top priority: 54% of music fans agree that “tackling climate change should be a top priority now, above other issues” as compared to 47% of non-fans.
For this reason, one of our key action areas is ‘Greening Music’, so we can redirect a portion of our grant giving to organizations doing the important work to make music more sustainable for generations to come.
