Our Highlights Of 2024

As we take our first steps into 2025, we’re looking back on some of our favorite moments and remarkable achievements of 2024. It was an incredible year for EarthPercent, building collaboration, working on pioneering projects, and being surrounded by passion for leveraging the power of music to address the climate crisis.

None of this would have been possible without the support of hundreds of amazing people from across the music industry and beyond. Here are some of our highlights from an unforgettable year:

1. Sounds Right Launch in NYC

We teamed up with the Museum for the United Nations - UN Live and a unique coalition of global partners to launch Sounds Right, a groundbreaking initiative that introduced NATURE as an official artist. Artists such as Aurora, Brian Eno, UMI, Tom Walker, and Bomba Estereo featured NATURE on remixed songs, and NATURE has released tracks of ecosystem sounds with The Listening Planet and Vozterra. NATURE has over 110 million Spotify streams so far, raising money through music royalties for conservation efforts in some of the world’s most precious, precarious ecosystems. NATURE finally gets the credit she deserves, and all fans need to do is listen!

2. EarthPercent at Glastonbury Festival

We shared our mission with thousands of music lovers at Glastonbury, one of the world’s most iconic music festivals. We had our own tent in the Green Futures field (bang in middle of the festival!), where created a relaxing space for festival-goers to listen to nature sounds, learn about EarthPercent and become fans of NATURE.

3. Hosting the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative

On a truly special evening in Brian Eno’s studio, we hosted some of the team behind this crucial initiative alongside the Pacific Islander band This Is Our Home. The highlight? Brian was so blown away (as were we) by their performance that he introduced them to Chris Martin, leading to them joining Colplday on stage 3 times in 2024! This was an incredible opportunity to advocate for a fossil free future through the Treaty, and a stellar example of the power of music to inspire change.

4. Moby Promoting EarthPercent on Tour

The legendary Moby helped spread the word about EarthPercent’s mission on his 2024 tour, choosing us as one of his 5 charity partners and promoting us on the big screens during the shows. We’re honoured to be supported by someone inspiring countless fans to take action for all life on Earth.

5. Jarvis Cocker’s Biophobia Talk

Jarvis Cocker’s Biophobia, a talk he created for EarthPercent, is thought-provoking, inspiring, and presented in a beautifully Jarvis Cocker way. He debuted Biophobia at our Annual Gathering in January, and also delivered it at A Greener Future’s GEI16 and Glastonbury Festival. Every time Jarvis does the talk, he donates the fee to our grant giving fund.

6. Sing Wild Seeds Workshops

These workshops explored collective music-making as a tool for imagining and building a better world. We partnered with artist songwriters to lead the workshops, which invited participants to co-create music for an ideal imagined future. We took Sing Wild Seeds to festivals Glastonbury, WOMAD, Forwards Festival, All Things Fungi and Nozstock and event space Gut Level in Sheffield.

7. Collaborations at Roskilde Festival

NATURE the artist was a key feature throughout Denmark’s Roskilde Festival last year, wowing audiences with live performances and embedding herself as a key collaborator in music-making. Artists Aysay, Allen Anjeh and Louis VI co-created music with NATURE live, she was featured in Aurora and Sam Lee’s performances, and she got in the studio with writer and producer Sacha Skarbek. NATURE also made her solo live debut with ecosystem sounds to soothe the festival night owls.

8. EarthPercent at Linecheck in Milan

We were proud to participate in this influential music conference, sharing our vision with industry leaders and artists alike. We participated in a panel and an industry round-table, and Brian Eno opened the festival with a virtual talk on music’s power to inspire change.

9. Publishing Event for Earth As Your Co-Writer

We hosted a special event with the music industry and an array of music publishing professionals to explore how we can grow the Earth As Your Co-Writer initiative, encouraging more composers and songwriters to integrate the planet into their publishing splits.

10. Mushroom (and Plant) Music Event

Thanks to A State of Flo, we took part in this unique event at EartH (Evolutionary Arts Hackney), exploring the fascinating relationship between music, nature, and creativity. We spoke on a panel about bringing nature’s voice into artistic creation, and witnessed DJs Auntie Flo and Natural Symphony make live music with mushrooms!

11. Swedish House Mafia Becomes a Founding Donor

We were thrilled to welcome Swedish House Mafia as a Founding Donor of EarthPercent. Founding Donors support our core operations, so that when other artists and organizations pledge to EarthPercent, 100% of their donations can fund our grant partners doing the frontline work to protect life on Earth. Other Founding Donors include Coldplay, Fraser T Smith, Cambridge Audio and Pioneer.

Looking ahead…

These highlights are just the tip of the iceberg. From dozens of events to countless conversations, we’ve seen how powerful music can be in inspiring action and hope.

If you haven’t yet considered how the Earth can be a stakeholder in your work—or how music can help create a better world—this is your moment to start.

Let’s continue to unleash the power of music for the planet in 2025. 💚
